The Definitive Guide to Trading Stock Index Futures

The Four US Primary Trading Indices:

Composition

Volatility

Average True Range (ATR)

Leverage

Why trade one over the other

How to spread them

How to trade each of the two phases of Market Development:

Horizontal and Vertical. “Horizontal” Development refers to a consolidation or “sideways” market condition and “Vertical” Development refers to a market that is trending. It is important to be able to recognize in which of the two conditions the is trading and just as important to recognize that different strategies and tactics must be used to trade each.

We will cover:

  • What rotational days have in common and how to recognize a day is likely to be mostly rotational and how to trade it.
  • What trend days have in common and how to recognize a trend day may be underway and how to trade it.

Strategies and Tactics:

  • How do I enter? Where do I enter a strongly trending market? How do I know when to get out of a trade?
  • How to use options including buying outright, as a hedge, spreads and naked writing

Using market generated internals as indicators:

  • TICK, Volume and breadth. These three indicators can add a tremendous amount of value to the stock index futures trader IF properly used. All “tape readers” use these indicators and that is where they derive their edge. It can take many years to understand how these indicators work and how to apply them. I have been sitting in front of a screen for twenty-five years. I will show you how I use them including when to use them and you have to ignore them.
  • Breadth: What is it and what does it tell us about market condition? This is an extremely useful and absolutely critical indicator for BOTH the intraday trader as well as the swing trader.
  • TICK: What is it and what does it tell us about market condition? This is a commonly used indicator that is most commonly misused. Learn its best uses and to most effectively use it to analyze market condition and to help time entries and exits.
  • Volume: Almost all traders attempt to use volume but hardly any of them really know how to read what volume is telling them and how to trade it.
  • The truth about gaps and how to analyze and trade them. Trading gaps is a favorite “gimmick” among traders. We will explain what a gap is and why they cannot be rote traded. We will show you how, why and when we trade gaps.
  • How to establish a swing trade “campaign” using the stock index futures

Intra-market relationships and why they are critical:

The four primary trading indices are correlated but in different degrees at different times. You will learn how to read and profit from divergences among the indices.

Specific trade set-ups:

When, where and how to take specific trade set-ups using the above information.

Trading “math”:

We will cover basic unassailable facts about trading stock index futures that traders ignore at their own peril.

This will be the most comprehensive and thorough one-day seminar you will ever have a chance to attend. I will cover step-by-step techniques and tips for trading the US Stock Indices in all timeframes. This is a consistent, objective and valid approach that has been refined over my twenty-five years of trading.
