Harris Landgarten

Harris Landgarten began trading the S&P in 1992 using automated systems he developed. His experience includes successfully managing a hedge fund in the late 1990’s. He continued his market education through the 1990’s into 2009 studying a broad range of analytical techniques, none of which proved to be consistently effective in providing a definitive edge.

In 2009 he discovered Alexander Trading which led to a study of Don Jones’ work on which the work of Tom Alexander is based, and that subsequently evolved into a partnership with Alexander Trading.

Harris has an incredible background in technology, having been involved in personal computer technology since its nascent stages in the early 1970’s. Harris built the first microcomputer kit on the market in 1975. Harris was in the software publishing business by 1978, in charge of acquiring new products and negotiating royalty contracts for the major software publisher at that time. In 1982 Harris started a company that had the first product that connected IBM PCs to IBM mainframes. Harris subsequently sold that company to a public company in 1985. From 1986-1990 Harris was part of the management of a company that had invented a way of controlling noise and vibration actively using signal processing chips. The active noise cancellation on headphones is related to the work done by that company.

Harris has lectured at technical conferences, published professional articles, and appeared on panels. He has appeared on live radio and live television including “Good Morning America”. Harris has also been quoted many times in the press including the New York Times and the Economist.

Harris has a BA in mathematics from Queens College of CUNY.
