Tom Alexander

Tom's background consists of twenty-years of trading experience. Tom has been a stockbroker, commodities broker and owned a commodities/futures brokerage firm. He has been a CTA (Commodity Trading Advisor). He has also been involved with institutional trading and advising. He traded large private accounts for over ten years. He has been published in several well-known trading magazines.

He has traded through market crashes (1987), financial crises (1998), bull markets (1990's), bear markets (early 2000's) and wars (Gulf and Iraq). He has learned the only constant in the markets is change, and he has been able to successfully adapt his trade methodology to a broad range of market conditions. His depth and breadth of trading experience is rare and is an invaluable asset to clients of Alexander Trading LLC.

Joseph J. Mertes

Joe received a B.A. in Political Science from Belmont Abbey College, and an MBA from Wake Forest University. His business career began in 1973 assisting in structuring tax and investment programs for individual clients. In 1976 he started his own business in venture capital specializing in capital formation for small to medium sized ventures. Business planning, capital structure, and organizational development were among the strengths he brought to each business entity. In 1986 he started a business consulting firm that assisted in the start up, capital formation, and business planning for small to medium sized businesses.

His trading career began in 1986, and he developed a structure for businesses to invest their unused capital to increase their return on investment through the use of stocks, bonds and futures contracts. He has been involved in the trading of the futures markets since that time and has assisted others in establishing a business planning approach to managing and trading their own money. He has experienced considerable success helping others in the establishment of structure, management, organization and control of approaching trading as a business with a properly documented business plan.
